Making an Impact Through Community Investment in 2025

New Gold believes that strong communities create lasting impact, and in 2025, that commitment continued to come to life through New Gold’s Community Investment Program, or CIP. Throughout the year, the company partnered with local organizations to make a difference where it matters most—right here in the Rainy River District.

Our focus area of social and community development was at the heart of many projects. New Gold contributed $15,000 to Riverside Healthcare Facilities for a new MRI machine, bringing enhanced medical services closer to home. New Gold also supported local legions in Emo and Fort Frances with $8,000 for renovations, preserving these vital community hubs.

New Gold proudly funded education programs that fill gaps for families and students who need extra support. The Caring Closet program received $10,000 to provide hygiene items, clothing, snacks, and school supplies, helping to ensure students have what they need to succeed. Through the Backpack for Kids program, 375 students received backpacks and essential school supplies, thanks to a collaborative effort involving individuals, community groups, organizations and local businesses. New Gold was proud to support this vital program, and employees joined in, led by Kim Blair, Construction Administrative Coordinator, who raised over $1,000 for school supplies.

In addition to these initiatives, over $50,000 in donations and sponsorships supported 39 groups and organizations for local events such as fishing tournaments, Canada Day celebrations, cultural gatherings, Pow Wows, community gardens, and business expos.

This year, the CIP implemented a feedback mechanism to better understand the impact of funded projects and the effectiveness of our engagement, helping us continually improve the program and guide future changes.

“Your process is very straightforward, and we appreciate your ongoing support for community projects.” – Fort Frances Community Garden

“This program helps families in the Rainy River District so much. Thank you for your support!” – Backpack for Kids
