New Gold’s Rainy River Mine hosted an Open House in December, welcoming community members into the Emo office to chat with staff about our operations and ask questions. This coincided with the annual Emo Chamber of Commerce Holly Daze business and community events. Neighbours and the public were invited by members of the Community Relations department to participate in an interactive activity meant to gather feedback on topics of interest related to mine operations. Attendees were given five marbles and were asked to place them in the jars corresponding with the topics that were most important to them. The event featured festive treats and door prizes. This provided New Gold’s Rainy River Mine staff with essential information to gain an even better understanding of the priorities of area residents. The insights also provide helpful guidance when considering the type of information that is most valuable to share in future newsletters, and other communications and events. The event coincided with the annual Emo Chamber of Commerce Holly Daze business and community event.
